Mr. Russo is the Managing Director National Bank of Kenya and the Group Regional Business Director, KCB Group Plc. He has over 18 years of work experience spanning executive and key roles including group HR Director (KCB Group Plc), Receiver Manager (Chase Bank), Head of HR (Barclays Standard Services – Barclays Africa), Regional HR Head and HR Change lead (Barclays Africa), Head of HR (Barclays Tanzania), Head of Human Capital (PwC), Chief HR officer (K-Rep Bank), HR Manager (Unga Holdings) and Acting Compensation and Benefits Manager (Kenya Breweries). Paul holds an MBA from Strathmore University Business School and a Bachelor of Business Management from Moi University. He also holds a senior executive program for Africa Certificate from Harvard Business School and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Human Resources (Kenya). Paul also serves as a director in the Boards of KCB Bank Uganda Limited, KCB Insurance Agency and KCB Capital Limited.
Mr. Kioko joined the Bank in November 2016 as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO). He holds a B.Com (Accounting Option) from the University of Nairobi, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Post graduate Diploma from the University of Bradford.Peter has 21 years’ experience in various companies within the broader financial management domain of banking, FMCG and manufacturing sectors. These include Kenya Shell/BP Ltd (Group Financial Controller), Shell International (Global Internal Auditor), CFC Stanbic Bank (Finance Manager – Corporate and Investment Banking), EABL Group (Head of Risk & Audit).Prior to joining National Bank, he worked at EABL International Ltd as Finance Director.He is a member of ICPAK.
Mr. Mungumi joined the Bank in December 2016. He joined the Bank as the Director in charge of Human Resources Division. He holds an MBA (Human Resources Management) from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Education (Business Studies) degree from Kenyatta University and various HR and other Banking and Leadership certifications including Corporate Governance and Change Management Practitioner (Prosci- ADKAR).
Prior to joining National Bank, Mr. Mungumi held the position of Chief Manager, Human Resource Development & Performance Management at Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). He has also held several Senior HR Management positions at the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Equity Bank and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB). While working within the Banking Industry, he had the opportunity to work in different markets including Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan. He has over 18 years of working experience and exposure in Human Resource Leadership and Management. .
He is a full member of the Institute of Human Resource Management of Kenya (IHRM), member of Human Capital Institute (HCI) and currently the Chairman Governing Council, Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB).
Mr. Mungumi was also named one of the ‘101 Most Influential Global HR Leaders’ by World HRD Congress, 2019.
Mr. Ouma is a career banker with over 19 years’ local and international banking experience. He joined National Bank in November 2019 as the Director, Credit. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA Finance) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (from the University of Nairobi, is a Certified Public Accountant and has an LLM in Energy, Oil & Gas Policy from the University of Dundee. Prior to joining National Bank, Martin worked in KCB Kenya Limited as the Head of Corporate Credit and mortgages in Kenya and a Group Credit Approver for KCB Subsidiaries. He has also previously worked in Bank of Africa and Standard Chartered Bank in various leading roles transforming Credit operations within the institutions.
Ms. Ngara joined the Bank in 2014 as the Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications. She has in the past handled the Marketing and Corporate Communications and Corporate Citizenship as well as Sustainability Reporting in the banking industry.Ms Ngara has experience in advertising handling brands in the FMCG, NGO and service industries. She has worked in the banking industry in different markets including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Nigeria.She has over 20 years working experience in the banking sector and is a dynamic, passionate and customer-centric marketing communications specialist. Working in diverse industries from Manufacturing to banking (both local and international), she has brought life to both new and existing brands. She has particular expertise in Strategic Marketing Management, PR, CSR, Customer Analytics and Digital Marketing.Bernadette has attended several executive leadership courses through Raiser Resource Group for Crestcom International, Cambridge University and Strathmore Business School. She holds an MA in International Marketing from University of Central England and is a Chartered Marketer (CIM).
Mr. Jowi joined the Bank in November 2016. He has over 15 years’ working experience in Internal Audit, having served in various organizations including Commercial Bank of Africa, I&M Bank, and Gulf African Bank where he was Assistant General Manager in-charge of Internal Audit department before joining National Bank.He holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) degree from United States International University (USIU). He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors and ISACA.
John joined the bank in June 2020. He has 15 years’ experience in enterprise risk management and compliance. He holds MBA (Finance) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degrees, both from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA – K), Certified Securities and Investment Analyst (CSIA -K), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and holds Global Association of Risk Professionals certification. John is a member of the Information Systems and Control Association (ISACA) and the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Before joining the Bank, he worked at KCB Bank as Head of Operational Risk. He previously worked in various capacities in the group, as Head of Risk, KCB Bank Burundi and Manager Internal Audit.
Jacqueline joined the bank in June 2020. She has over 16 years of experience in Treasury management. She is responsible for overseeing treasury objectives for the bank. Prior to joining the bank, Jacqueline was the Head of FX Corporate and Institution sales at KCB-Kenya. She previously worked in various roles in Treasury at KCB group as Senior Manager and FX sales dealer. She has vast experience in general bank leadership, Corporate sales, Asset liability management and Fixed income portfolio management.
She holds a Master's in Business administration from Jomo-Kenyatta university and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Banking and Finance option from Africa Nazarene University. She is a member of the Financial Markets Association of Kenya ( ACI Kenya)
Carol Rutto joined National Bank in February 2021 as the Director of the restructured Retail Division. She is responsible for the Retail and Business Banking Division, including MSME and Islamic banking with a focus on growth of consumer banking and bank channels. She is an accomplished professional with more than 24 years of banking industry experience having previously worked in multinational financial institutions [Barclays Bank of Kenya (Absa) and 4G Capital] in diverse senior management roles including assistant vice president, vice president, head of digitization, head of premier banking and head of customer service, as well as COO role. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Nairobi, and a Pan African EMBA from IESE Business School Spain.
In her previous roles, Carol has been instrumental in providing transformational leadership proven through proficiency in driving business performance and complemented by expertise in business turnaround resulting in demonstrable customer satisfaction and aggressive business growth to generate robust earnings.
