LAUNCH OF NBK/KPLC ELECTRICITY BILL PAYMENT SERVICE

National Bank of Kenya is keen to widen access not only of banking services but also of other crucial services such as utility payments to both customers and non customers. The Bank has now partnered with KPLC to enable our customers and KPLC customers pay their electricity bills through the NBK’s branch network countrywide. This service was launched on Friday 9th October 2009 by the MD NBK Mr. Reuben Marambii and MD KPLC Eng. Joseph Njoroge, at the Harambee Avenue branch banking hall.
The Bank joins a list of other KPLC partners that include Postal Corporation of Kenya, Safaricom Ltd, Zain Kenya, KCB, Equity Bank, Cooperative Bank, Standard Chartered, Barclays and some Major supermarkets.
This new service is free of any charges to the customer. Customers can now pay their electricity bills through KPLC deposit vouchers provided at all NBK banking halls. Every payment will be receipted and may be used to show evidence of payment.
In order to further increase efficiency of this service, users are advised to pay their KPLC bill TWO working days before due date.
NBK has FOUR (4) payment channels for the service:
1. Over-the-Counter (through the cashiers)
2. NBK Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) – for NBK customers ONLY
3. SIMple Banking
4. Internet (online)
Users are encouraged to apply for the SIMple banking and internet banking services to enable the make their payments from them comfort of their homes or offices.
