COMMISSIONING OF ELECTRICITY AND WATER STORAGE PROJECT AT THE SOUL MERCY CHILDREN’S HOME - KARIOBANGI

National Bank of Kenya is keen to facilitate in the development and empowerment of disadvantaged children. This is by providing homes that cater for these children with basic necessities to help the children compete at a level ground with other children of their age. Last year as part of the bank’s 40th anniversary celebrations, CSR was placed as a key highlight of the celebrations. Subsequently the plight of the children at the Soul Mercy Children’s home was brought to the Bank’s attention through a news story by the K24 TV channel. The top management of the Bank visited the home on 24th October 2008, and donated 40 beds and food stuffs to the home. During this visit the Bank officials identified a dire need for electricity and water storage at the home.
